Swim Team

Open to boys and girls up to age 21. Practice starts Nov. 2 and the season runs until late winter. The deadline to register is Nov. 15. The parents meeting will be Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 6 pm.

For a child to participate, he or she must be able to swim one length of the pool, and the child must have a YMCA membership 30 days prior to the first meet, which is Nov. 21.

Teen Center gives area youth a safe, engaging place to hang out or play after school. All teens are welcome! Teen Center operates from the end of the school day until 5:15 pm.

Guitar Lessons, youth

We offer free introductory guitar lessons for teens or even younger kids!

Instructor Curtis Bertschi offers lessons during our Teen Center hours. Or your younger child can take introductory lessons at a different time.

When your child progresses past the introduction phase, arrangements can be made for paid private or group lessons.

Karate, youth

Karate is designed to promote health, self-control and discipline, self-defense and respect.

Youth karate is Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:45-6:30 pm.

This class uses a punch card of its own.

Members: 8 punches/$30

This fall program is open to girls and boys in first grade through sixth grade.

The YMCA youth sports are based upon certain beliefs and philosophies – participation and everyone plays. The Y emphasizes fundamentals, fair play, cooperation and respect for officials, volunteers, teammates, and the other team. Our philosophy is simple: everyone plays, everyone wins!

STRIDE

STRIDE is a fun fitness and running program for boys in grades 3-5. Boys have the chance to share their thoughts and opinions about various life topics in a safe, encouraging environment that helps them develop character, while building their running endurance to complete a 5K.

Our program takes place in the fall. Financial assistance is available.

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is a unique recreation program that combines physical training with a curriculum that stresses life skills. The curriculum focuses on three main themes:understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork, and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large. At the end of the 10-week season, girls complete a non-competitive 5K run.
